About

Sophie Law Fine Art was founded by Sophie Law, an art specialist with extensive experience in the art world. Sophie has worked for twenty years in the auction business, seventeen of which as a Russian art specialist and director of the Russian Department at the New Bond Street offices of Bonhams Auctioneers in London. In her time at Bonhams, Sophie oversaw the sale of a number of million-pound lots and in 2013 was responsible for selling the painting Madonna Laboris by Nikolai Roerich for £7.9 million, setting a world record for the artist and for the most expensive Russian painting ever sold at the time. A UK Board Director of Bonhams, Sophie travelled extensively in pursuit of the best pieces and she brings to Sophie Law Fine Art an eye for the finest works available.

Sophie studied at Merton College, Oxford, and the UCL School of Slavonic & East European Studies. She lives in North Oxfordshire with her husband, children and black Labrador and also acts as regional representative for Oxfordshire and the North Cotswolds for Chorley's Auctioneers, www.chorleys.com
